Our 7th grade won its first ballgame of the season beating Harrisburg 28-0 last Thursday night at Harrisburg. Our Jr. High closed out their season with a win over Harrisburg 14 to 0 and finishing with a 5 and 2 record. Our Jr High program has had a good year and finished in our Conference standing as runner up. Our Sr. High played Harrisburg last Friday night and truly played our worst game since our opener with Cave City. We dropped two touchdown passes, fumbled four times, gave up three long touchdown passes and tackled poorly. But nobody got hurt (except our pride) and everybody is ready for the Piggott ballgame. We have qualified for the playoffs and will know who we play this Saturday as the Activity Association releases the “opt ins” and the brackets. The players are excited about closing out our season at Piggott and hoping for a home playoff game next week. Again, I thank the loyal Bobcat fans in these hard times for supporting our kids. Go Bobcats!
Last Monday, Oct. 19 at Corning, Osceola Jr. High beat our Jr. Bobcats in two overtimes; 20 to 14. It was a make-up game. We had just won an overtime game the week before and had several opportunities to win the game but could just not make a play when we needed it. Then last Thursday, our Jr. Bobcats traveled to Palestine-Wheatley and came away with a close victory; 22 to 16. We close out our season with Harrisburg on Thursday night, Oct. 29 at Harrisburg.
