Cats pull out win against Wildcats; 5-3

The Corning Bobcats won a home conference game on Tuesday, March 10 against Trumann by a score of 5-3. The Bobcats hit the scoreboard in the 2nd inning with 4 runs while the Wildcats scored a run in the same inning. Trumann scored again in the 5th inning and Corning responded in the 6th inning with a run which sealed the win when Trumann didn’t score in the 7th inning.

Bobcats lose 17-3 to Redskins

The Corning Bobcats lost to the Redskins at home on Thursday, March 5 by a score of 17-3. Pocahontas scored first with two runs in the 2nd inning followed by two more runs in the 3rd inning. Corning scored a run in the 3rd inning placing them on the scoreboard. The Bobcats also scored 2 runs in the 5th inning. Pocahontas went on to score 2 runs in the 4th and a run in the 5th and in the 6th and fmal inning, they scored 10 runs.

OM teams headed to State

Corning Middle School and Park Elementary Odyssey of the Mind Teams are headed to the state competition. Corning teams competed in the Delta Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament that was held in Pocahontas on Saturday, February 29th. Other teams from around the area that participated were Pocahontas, Greene County Tech, Brookland, Valley View, Walnut Ridge, Trumann, Tuckerman, Osceola, Blytheville, along with many others.
