Junior ’Cats drop tight contest to Hoxie

The Junior Bobcats lost a tight game Thursday at Hoxie after turnovers plagued the squad late in the game. “We had a good opportunity to bring home a victory,” said Coach Jeremy Stout. “We played very well in the first quarter and in the beginning of the second quarter the wheels began to fall off.” Trailing 7-0 after Hoxie’s touchdown and two-point conversion, the young ‘Cats scored on a Beau Young touchdown up the middle on a designed quarterback keeper play. Riley Grubb hauled in the two-point conversion to give Corning an 8-7 advantage at the 5:30 mark of the third quarter.
