Jr. High Track and Field end season with a solid showing in District Meet

The Corning Jr. High Track and Field team bussed their way Southeast for an hour and a half drive to Osceola for the District Meet Thursday, April 19. Corning sent several athletes to compete in the District Meet and Corning fared well throughout the event in both boys’ and girls’ competitions. There were several Bobcats leaving their footprint in different type of events in this highly competitive meet. It was Madelyn Coleman who got things started for the Lady Bobcats. Coleman took to the air in the High Jump event. Coleman finished eighth with a jump of 4’2”. Melody Pennington was on deck for the Lady Cats with the grueling 300M Hurdles event. Pennington finished with a solid time of 1:07.60. That time was good enough for a sixth place finish. Leslie Seagraves was by far the most active Lady Bobcat on the day. Seagraves competed in three separate individual events and held her own in all three.
