GCT walks off late with a win over Corning - 5 to 4

The Golden Eagles added a run in the home half of the eighth inning to walk off with the victory over Corning Tuesday, February 27 in Paragould. The first game of the season for Corning pitted the Bobcats up against a very solid 5A Greene County Tech squad. Corning jumped out to a 1 to 0 lead after the first inning of play. Tech would answer in the second inning tying the game up at 1 going to third. The third inning was the difference in the game. Tech scored three runs in an inning that seemed to never end for Corning. Mason SIlberstein came in to pitch and did a tremendous job of halting the Golden Eagles momentum. SIlberstein would shut the Eagles out the next four innings while striking out seven batters. Little by little, the Bobcats made their comeback.
