Each week when I get my Courier, I can’t help but compare it to the ones of yesteryear. This is not a reflection on the paper itself but on the patrons.
What has happened to the society page? There was a time when you wouldn’t have been reading this on that page. It would have been filled with engagements, weddings, births, and local happenings, such as outof-town visitors. There would have been photos of beaming fiancées and beautiful brides. Why not now?
There were once correspondents from all the surrounding communities, from Neelyville to the north, to Knobel to the south, Datto to the west, McDougal to the east. Other than Peach Orchard, there are none. Does no one want to take a few minutes to submit a few news items about their area?
