The School Cafeteria

We recently met Rick and Betty Huffmaster in Branson as we do each October. We were discussing everything from politics to grandkids when the topic of school lunches came up. Rick commented that they were really good when we were in school. Always looking for topics to write about, I decided this would be a good one. I remember my first day of school. Mrs. Adams took us to the cafeteria to show us what to do when we finished our lunch. Milk was served in cone-shaped paper cups inside a plastic base with a thumb sized hole in the bottom. We were to push that cup into the trash can, drop in our napkin, put the base in a basket, empty our tray into the slot, and stack it on the counter.
