While most people have been battling mosquitoes, I’ve been carrying on a secret war with wasps. All of a sudden I had wasps all over the house. . .every time I went in home there they would be—in the living room, bedroom, kitchen, back porch, no place was safe. I’m not allergic to wasps, but I didn’t like the prospects of them crawling around on me at night. One day I finally got enough. I took a fly swatter and a dust cloth and I went over every inch of the house, behind pictures and curtains, underneath chairs. No wasp nests.
Then I happened to see the problem. There is this attic fan in the hallway and for some reason the vents weren’t closing when it was turned off. I stood in a chair to investigate and found that there was a problem with one little hinge. That was fixed, the vents closed and that was the end of the wasps except for one which was on the screen door and instead of killing him, I just opened the door and turned him out. No need in splattering up the screen.
