Friend Beverly and I decided that we both needed a good dose of sitting and looking at the water last Saturday and like to have never got off on a fishing trip. We were traveling down this gravel road and, looking ahead, I said "Boy, we really do need a rain, look at the dust behind that truck over there on the other road." As we got closer we realized that "over there" was out in the middle of a field and that it was smoke instead of dust. Just as we got close enough to see better, the truck driver jumped out, raised the hood and started throwing hands full of dirt on the flames. We turned around and went kiting and flying back up to Raymond and Linda Johnson's house and I'm sure it sounded like a whole posse of wild people had arrived...we were both talking far too loud and pointing in the direction of the burning truck. Raymond called the fire department then he and his sons gathered up their shoes and took off down there.
