It is not to often that I get taken in by a prank-puller, but Roman Selig got me good the other day when I went to the cemetery for placing flags on the graves of veterans of all wars.

See, I have this habit of never leaving the office without telling someone where I am going and about how long I will be gone... I never leave home without telling someone where I am going and when I will return. That’s just something that I have done over the years and it just seems routine.

The other day I drove straight up Second Street to the cemetery for a 1:30 appointment with VFW and American Legion members and just as I got out of Ole Blue there was Roman Selig standing outside his pickup truck, holding a telephone receiver and motioning for me to come answer the phone. I could hardly believe it, but strange things do happen. Dumb like, I go over take the receiver and say “Hello” -this is about the same time that I spotted the other end of the telephone wire, it was wrapped around the steering column. He thought it was funny, I thought it was funny, so we all had a chuckle, then went about doing the work that we were there to do.
