Something rather nice happened to me recently. The Road Information Program (TRIP), Washington, D.C. made a study of roads and this information was passed on to Arkansas newspapers by the Arkansas Good Roads and Transportation Council. In looking over the information I noted that Silas D. Snow is head of Arkansas Good Roads and Transportation Council, Little Rock. Mr. Snow, as many will recall, was superintendent of Corning Schools back in the 1940’s and was so far as I am concerned, the most competent leader we could have had the good fortune to have in our midst when our school, all 12 grades, burned to the ground one cold winter morning.
This winter, the Little Rock-based Council grouped the clippings from newspapers from all over the state concerning the TRIP report and what I had to say, in the April 10, “Rambling Vines” column was printed in full, complete with head, as a back cover for the report. I thought that was pretty nice.
