Mistaking lip service for leadership . . .

Right now there are many teachers across Arkansas and in the United States expressing concern, anger, and worry about starting a school year during a pandemic with Covid case numbers higher than last spring. Some teachers, none that are local that I’ve heard, say they are planning to protest while others are resigning for health reasons and others in fear. They have families, spouses with weakened immune systems, children, and elderly parents that they don’t want to infect in case they contract COVID-19. Some are doing what educators have been known to do throughout time, accept the situation, saddle up and do the best they can to just do what they love; teach.
