Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

I would like to say that closing the polling sites in Clay County down to three locations is terrible. There will be many people who won't know about this until election day and they will be upset and feel that they were denied their right to vote, and perhaps that is the plan. Local printed media doesn't reach as many as it used to and everyone doesn't have or use computers or cellphones, especially the elderly, i.e. on Facebook and Twitter. Having everyone go to the Community Centers will create long lines with less social distancing than in our own small polling place where one person can go in at a time and poll workers can sanitize that one machine between voters. Since the start of this pandemic, we have watched barber and beauty shops, mom and pop restaurants and small businesses etc., shut down while Walmart and Home Depot etc., flourish. Who is getting to choose the winners and losers? We have watched on TV,
