A magical transformation was revealed in Wynn Park on Saturday, November 28 at 5 p.m. during the annual lighting of the park. This is the 24th year that Wynn Park has been transformed into an enchanted Christmas land for kids and adults. In these trying times it is not often that appreciation and professionalism intersect, but the actions of Corning Police Officer Shane Calhoun did not go unnoticed during a recent traffic accident in the city of Corning. This week Mayor Greg Ahrent and Police Chief Jimmy Leach received a letter from a Jonesboro attorney regarding the sense of duty and professionalism performed by Calhoun. The letter reads as follows:
This month Arkansas SkillsUSA elected their state officers. They elected nine officers from SkillsUSA students around the state from High Schools and Career Tech Centers. Among those elected were two CHS SkillsUSA students; Melody Pennington and Sabrina Parks.
