Water, pumps and funds issue at Special City Council Meeting

In a special council meeting on Monday, March 5 at 3 p.m., the Corning City Council met to discuss the purchase of a new pump to replace one of two pumps that are down. Present at the meeting were councilmen Terry Masterson, Ray Vannoy and Randall Godwin. Trent McKinney was absent. Also in attendance were Water Superintendent Tracy Robinson, City Clerk Fran Edwards, Mayor Rob Young, Bryan Bass and his father, Tony Bass, both representing B & B Well Drilling. It was explained by Robinson that of the two pumps in question, the ball field pump is a backup pump, which the city had been using since the main pump has been down. Now the ball field pump is down and the need to purchase a pump was deemed necessary.
