Tourism Director: “Every community has a story to tell”

Jim Dailey, Arkansas Tourism Director, arrived at the Corning Welcome Center on his final visit of the 14 Welcome Centers in the state on Friday, August 2. Barbara Harmon, Director of the Corning Welcome Center invited a group of people involved in Clay County and Arkansas events, museums and publications to have a conversation concerning their organizations, businesses and happenings with the director. The purpose of his visit to Corning was to discuss tourism in Clay County and across the state with Barbara Harmon, Pam Lowe, editor of the Clay County Courier and representing Corning Publishing Company, George Lowe, President of Growing Corning Together, Joey Pruett and Jane and Marvin Gateway from the Rector Military Museum, Dr. Adam Long, Director of the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum, Shannon Williams, the administrative assistant of the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Cindy Davis with Arkansas Outdoor Country Magazine. Dailey also came to listen to community stories and to answer questions concerning Arkansas tourism.
