Sonic to open early 2020
Locals missing a Route 44 soda or a Sonic cheeseburger may not have long to wait as the Corning Sonic looks to open during the first week of January if everything goes as expected according to Sam Tuck, new General Manager. Tuck, who comes from Missouri, said the drive-in is under new management with franchise group, North Fork Dining. He explained that the new Sonic will have touch screen menus and Micros, a point of service system. “Everything will be new and shiny with a new shake machine, fryers, 5’ grill, bun toaster, and two slush machines.” He explained that any soda can be made into a slush.
Another new feature at the Sonic will be the focus on service. The management encourages customers to let them know if there is an issue with an order. “We can’t make it right if we don’t know about an issue,” said Tuck. His name and number will be on every receipt. He also said that for the first month, customers can expect to see trainers working to train the new employees.
