A new era in Corning football launched

The M.B. Ainley Jr., Community Center was a buzz with excitement and hope as former and current Corning Bobcat football players, their supporters, school administration and board members, came together for an uplifting evening on Saturday, April 27. The school district’s hiring of Coach Larry Treadway has been a catalyst for a new beginning for the Corning football program and its fans as this event served to welcome Treadway to the Bobcat fold.

Growing Corning Together and the Pride Booster Club partnered to present the golf tournament and banquet that evening. The proceeds from the events are to be split between the Pride Booster Club and GCT. Andy Earls, GCT member and coordinator of the two events, invited Clint Stoerner, former Razorback and Dallas Cowboy football player, to Corning as well as Corning’s new Head Football Coach Treadway to speak to the Corning crowd. Razorback super fan Canaan Sandy was also in attendance with his mother, Ginger. Canaan and his mother are known for traveling around the country to cheer on the Razorbacks. Canaan stirred the audience as he called the Hogs a couple times during the evening.
