Loyant; Drifting plagues another AR herbicide

In September 2017, Loyant, an arylpicolinate herbicide developed by Dow AgroSciences, was approved as a broad spectrum tool for rice growers. It was announced to be the first new such product to be introduced in rice or any other major row crop in years. The purpose of Loyant is to enable rice growers to control grass, broadleaf and sedge weeds. Fast forward to June 2018 and there have been allegations of off-target movement. Concerns have been mounted by Arkansas growers and applicators regarding alleged damage from the application of Loyant. The Arkansas State Plant Board Pesticide Committee is advising growers and applicators to follow the Loyant product label closely and warning
