Depleted General Fund causes tension among city depts

A special council meeting was called Tuesday, September 11 in the afternoon for that evening at 7 p.m. to discuss the General Fund. Mayor Rob Young called the meeting to order and City Clerk Suzy Parks began by saying the General Fund currently held $475.20. Parks said,

“The amount that is going to come out of the General Fund to go into the Payroll Fund for the checks to be paid is $8,725.83. We don’t have it. Now what that includes is, that is their net paycheck, their federal withholding, their FICA withholding, our match, their APERS that was withheld from the check and our APERS match. So that is how much is going to go into that Payroll Fund. Then their checks come out of it
