Datto announces plans for Earl Day Community Center

The city of Datto will soon have a community center thanks to the family of Earl and Annie Day. The former Datto Missionary Baptist Church building was donated by brothers, Gary and Alan Garland. It will be called the Earl Day Community Center. The center has a building behind it that houses a kitchen and two bathrooms.

“We are so excited to get in and busy with this beautiful building,” said Mayor Jeremy Edington. The Edington family is working on repairs as they can and haven’t set a completion date. Edington’s mom, Debbie and his aunt, Brenda have helped with cleaning. Recently, a new handicap ramp was built by two Datto residents, Matthew Radditz and Lonnie Groves.
