Clay Co loses medical marijuana dispensary
“It is true,” said Scot Sale, President of NEA Full Spectrum Medicine about the moving of the medical marijuana dispensary from Clay County to Brookland in Craighead County. “We had such a distance for everyone to travel. They had three dispensaries at West Memphis and us at Rector and we were the closest one. Actually Jonesboro had been raising so much cane with the commission and we felt like most people go to Jonesboro to the doctor anyway, Jonesboro or Paragould and it wouldn’t really miss-put them.”
The commission confirmed the dispensary’s move to Brookland on Wednesday afternoon, February 13 after Sale appeared before them. NEA Full Spectrum Medicine made the request to move the dispensary two days prior in order to get on the agenda. “The commission was very supportive and it didn’t take five or ten minutes,” said Sale.
“We knew that Jonesboro, Paragould, all that area; of course those two areas together; the population is just really behind Little Rock; Jonesboro being the fifth largest city in the state. And it was going to be such an imposition on the patients that we felt like that would probably be the thing to do; just taking everybody into consideration and not one bunch.
