Chamber gives away $15,000 in drawings
At 10 p.m. on July 4, three lucky ticket holders became $5,000 richer as a little girl chosen by three out of town visitors in Wynn Park drew their names out of the raffle drum. The winners were William Thompson of Rockford, Illinois, Soileau Industries of Ville Platte, Louisiana and a Corning resident, Ryan Corlee.
Rhonda Sollis said that Soileau Industries buys $200 worth of tickets annually from the Corning Chamber. When Sollis called to tell them they had won their response was, “Is there any organization that I can donate some money to in order to help children?” When Soileau receives their winnings they will write a check for $1,000 to Corning Cares, an organization that provides Christmas presents to local children in need.
