BRAD Transit a service to community

Since its inception in 1975, the purpose of Black River Area Development Corporation (BRAD) is to administer programs to benefit the communities and low to moderate income residents of Clay, Lawrence, and Randolph Counties in Arkansas.

While most people in our area are familiar with BRAD, many do not know all services they provide. In the following weeks, we will be presenting a series informing the public about the seven departments and their services. We will begin with the Public Transportation Program.

BRAD started a Public Transportation Program to provide bus service to the public in Clay, Lawrence and Randolph Counties. This program has received National Model Project recognition. BRAD Public Transit currently operates five days a week in Corning, Pocahontas, Walnut Ridge and Hoxie. Transit serves all ages ranging from children to senior citizens. There are no income guidelines and all of the buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts.
