Agape Gift Box ministry prepares for Christmas

December signals an American favorite in holidays as all eyes are on the Christmas countdown.

December also sparks an outpouring of support for local ministries such as the Agape Outreach Mission which, every year, plans to provide every visitor of the food bank with special Christmas gifts for children in low-income families.

Through the instrumentality and efforts of a handful of big hearted ladies, the project has helped supply Christmas gifts consisting of both necessities and toys to area children who may not otherwise have a very Merry Christmas.

“We love doing this,” said Joyce Huggins, now in her 11th year as a volunteer for the ministry. Joyce helps to organize the event which provides gifts to children in Clay and Randolph counties.
