1st Choice Healthcare celebrates 25 years of healthcare in the community
Rainy weather didn’t damper the spirits of the 25th anniversary appreciation dinner that 1st Choice Healthcare hosted at the Corning clinic on Thursday, April 25. Guests and healthcare workers stood under tents and listened to speakers, 1st Choice Healthcare CEO, Brigitte McDonald, State Senator Blake Johnson and County Judge Mike Patterson.
When the Corning hospital closed in 1991, it was glaringly apparent that Corning was in dire need of a medical care facility. McDonald began her speech to the community at the appreciation dinner by acknowledging the instrumental role that the late Martha Ahrent played in getting the clinic established and serving as a founding board member.
