New socially-distanced drive-in movie theater offers family entertainment

Families can enjoy movies and remain mindful of social distancing at a new drive-in theatre called, James Junction, located in Pocahontas at 1300 Holscher Lane. Graydon Carter and Joseph Barry have partnered to build and operate the drive-in. The movie venue opened to a good crowd on its first weekend last week. Carter said, ”We showed “Jaws” on Friday night to about 110 cars and “Back to the Future” on Saturday night to about 87 cars. So it was a really great reception. We’ve got a concession building that is about two thirds of the way built. It’s going to have windows in it and for a permanent set up.” Carter explained that this upcoming weekend they are showing a movie on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Jurassic Park (1993) will be playing on Friday and ET (1982) on Saturday night of this week. “We’re looking for recommendations for the third movie on our Facebook, which is a James junction LLC. We’re hoping to have moved in to that permanent concessions building before next Friday.”
