QC meets with light agenda

Members of the Clay County Quorum Court met in regular session on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the courthouse in Corning with all members in attendance. The meeting was held a day late due to the President's Day holiday, and a fairly light agenda was addressed. During the gathering the JPs heard updates from the Clay County Cooperative Extension Service and approved an ordinance appropriating insurance funds to the sheriff's office. Parks named February Artist of the Month

The Corning Beautification Committee is pleased to present Sabrina Parks as the February Artist of the Month. Parks is a sophomore at Corning High School and has been taking art classes with Mrs. Christina Swint for three years. She is a member of the Bobcats Ambassadors, NHS, FFA, Quiz Bowl team, and the Art Club. Sabrina is the daughter of Suzy and Steven Parks, and the niece of Cindy Hart-Layton, who taught as an art teacher. Her goals are to continue taking art classes and to continue to stretch her creativity and artistic talent as a hobby throughout college.
